By Air-
The nearest airport to Manali is Kullu Manali Airport, located approximately 50 kilometers away from Manali town, in Bhuntar. Domestic flights from Delhi and Chandigarh are directly connected… The chief operating airline companies are Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet.
By Train-
The closest train station to Manali is Ambala Cantt, which is 200 km away. Another option is to get a train to Chandigarh, which is 250 km away. Ambala Cantt is on the Delhi Amritsar route.
By Road-
The fastest way to reach from Chandigarh to Manali is a cab to Mandi, then bus to Manali and takes 6h 36m. The recommended way to reach from Chandigarh to Manali is a bus to Manali and takes 7h 0m. Buses from Pal Travel Lines, Himalayan Nomad (K.T.C), Leo Travels Height etc. Cabs from Wiwigo, Gozo etc.
Inclusions for Friendship Peak Trek:
1. Accommodation – 6 nights accommodation in Camps as per the itinerary. Accommodation on a double and triple sharing basis.
2. Meals – (Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner). We provide simple, nutritious vegetarian food on all days of the trek. Lunch will be available in proper packaging.
3. Camping charges – All trekking permits and forest camping charges are included.
4. Trekking equipment – High-quality tents and sleeping bags in all the camps. Sleeping bags can withstand temperatures as low as -10 ºC.
5. Safety equipment – First aid kit, oxygen cylinders, oximeter, etc. will be with guide/trek leader and at the campsite as well to deal with emergencies. Ice axe during Day 4 till day 7 & crampons.
6. Expert trek Leaders – All our trek leaders are at least qualified in basic/advanced mountaineering and first aid course.
7. Expert Trek support team – The mountain staff on this trek consists of certified guides, cooks, helpers, and porters.

Day 1: Chandigarh/Delhi- Manali
- Start from Chandigarh/Delhi via bus, train, or flight and reach Manali.
- Altitude gain: 2050m
- Cover a distance of 529.6km from Delhi and reach Manali within 12 to 13 hours (by road).
- Cover a distance of 288.0 from Chandigarh via NH154 and reach Manali within 9 hours (by road).
- This route is covered fully by transport.
- Spend a night in Manali, preferably in a hotel near the Mall road.
You have to reach Manali from Delhi either by bus or train. You can also take a flight from Delhi to Bhutnar, the nearest airport to Manali. Spend the day in Manali. The Mall road and the Hidimba Temple are enlisted as the major attractions of Manali. After freshening up, visit these places and feel blessed to be a part of this stellar journey. Stay overnight in a hotel and prepare yourself for, Manali to Friendship Peak trekking.
Day 2: Manali- Solang Nala- Bakarthach
- In the morning start from Manali and reach Solang Nala.
- Altitude gain in Solang Nala: 2560 m
- Cover a distance of 14 km by car within 30 to 40 minutes.
- Start your trek on foot from Solang Nala to Dhundi and cover a distance of 8.4 km. Reach Dhundi within 2 hours and trek further to Bakarthach.
- Cover a distance of 3-4 km on foot between Dhundi and Bakarthach.
- This route is partially covered by a cab from Manali to Solang Nala. From Solang, you need to trek on foot throughout.
- The trek to this part is quite easy.
- Spend the night at the camp in Bakarthach.
After the journey from Delhi, take some rest and recoup in the lap of the Manali Mountains. You can take a cab to Solang Nala from Manali. Solang Nala is basically a common juncture from where numerous treks in Himachal Pradesh commence.
The Friendship Peak trek starts off from Dhundi and you have to walk the distance from Solang Nala to Dhundi. The trekking trail will keep you entertained with the lush green pasturelands, the wide-canopied alpine forests, and the gushing streams of Beas. Today’s trekking trail from Dhundi to Bakarthach is a moderate one. The Pir Panjal Range and the Dhauladar Range are visible from this point. This part of the trek ends at a camp in Bakarthach.
Day 3: Bakarthach- Beas Kund Base Camp
- Start your trek in the morning to the Beas Kund Base Camp from Bakarthach.
- Altitude gain: 3600m
- Cover a distance of 4-5 km on foot between Bakarthach to Beas Kund Base Camp and reach within 4 hours.
- This part of the trek is moderate to difficult enlisting some steep ascends.
- This route is fully covered by trek.
- Spend the night at the Beas Kund Base Camp.
Today’s journey includes the trek from Bakarthach to the Beas Kund Camp. Today’s trek will take about 4 hours to reach. This terrain is quite a difficult one. The trail enlists rocky platforms and it is quite a steep ascend to the top of the Beas Kund Camp. This tranquil spot is perfect for repose and meditation. The enthralling views of the dense forests and the snowy mountains will keep you entertained throughout the route to the trek. After reaching the camp, take rest, have your meals, and delve into the blissful scenario of nature.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day At Beas Kund Base Camp
- Spend the whole day in the base camp and prepare for the trek ahead.
- The night stays at the campsite again.
Mt Friendship Expedition requires a perfect fitness level and great endurance. It is recommended to spend a day at Beas Kund Camp and get used to the constantly changing weather conditions at different altitudes. Train yourself with some tricks and techniques to have a smooth trek to the summit. The presence of meadows and a heavy accumulation of snow will make the terrain a difficult one, unlike the other days. Brace yourself physically and mentally for the further steep climb ahead.
Day 5: Beas Kund Base Camp- Advance Camp
- Start your trek in the morning to the Advance Camp.
- Altitude gain: 4032m
- Cover a distance of 3 km from the Beas Kund Base Camp to Advance Camp and reach within 3 hours.
- This part of the trek is quite difficult due to the sharp ascend.
- This route is fully covered by trek.
- Spend the night in the Advance Camp.
From Beas Kund Camp, you can reach the Advance Camp within 3 to 4 hours. Today’s trek entails moderate to steep ascends. On the way of this tiring trek, you may stop at certain points to take some rest. Also, don’t forget to take snaps of the intoxicating beauty of the mountains and the landscapes. Reaching the campsite, explore the beauty of the arduous mountains, and get ready for the sharp steep ahead.
Day 6: Advance Camp- Summit- Bakarthach
- Start your trek quite early in the dawn around 3 a.m. to reach the summit.
- Altitude gain: 5289m
- Cover a distance of 12 km uphill from Advance camp to the Summit which will take about 11 hours to reach approximately.
- Cover a distance of another 7-8km downhill from the Summit to Bakarthach.
- Both uphill and downhill trek is a difficult one so you need to be very careful.
- This route is fully covered by trek.
- Spend the night at the Bakarthach camp.
This the most longs for part of this exhilarating journey. On this day, you can bask in the alluring beauty of the Friendship peak. The strenuous summit climb brings with it indescribable sights of the Pir Panjal Range and the Dhauladhar Range. You should begin your trek at around 3 am to 4 am so that you can reach the Peak and climb down before the sundown. It is recommended to reach the summit in the daytime to experience the divine view of the Peak in perfect visibility. The whole expedition will seem worthwhile after this experience. While descending from Bakarthach, you have to be really careful as you have to make your way through the snow and scree. You have to be sure-footed so that you don’t slip or meet with an accident. Reaching Bakarthach after this back-breaking trek, take some rest and chill out!
Day 7: Bakarthach- Manali
- Start your downhill trek in the morning from Bakarthach to Solang Nala.
- Cover a distance of 11.3km from Bakarthach to Solang Nala and reach within 5 hours.
- This part of the trek is quite easy.
- Then from Solang Nala, take a cab to Manali.
- This route is partially covered by trek from Bakarthach to Solang Nala and partially by cab from Solang Nala to Manali.
- Spend the night in Manali.
This is the last day of the trek. Trek downhill from Bakarthach to Solang valley following the same route. The downhill descend provides you with the same scenic views and this route also crosses through the same dense forests and riverside trails. Though this part of the journey is an easy trek downhill, you should watch your steps as you walk, as some trails might be slippery and undulating. Reaching Solang valley, you can take a cab to Manali. Spend the night at Manali, exploring the Mall road and embarking on some irresistible shopping. Mt Friendship Expedition is not just a trek, it’s quite an experience.
Friendship Peak Trek Policies
Confirmation Policy
The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.
In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.
Refund Policy
The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
All applicable refunds will be done in the traveler’s Thrillophilia wallet as Thrillcash.
Cancellation Policy
- If cancellation are made 30 days before the date of travel then 25.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
- If cancellation are made 15 days to 30 days before the date of travel then 50.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
- If cancellation are made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
Payment Terms Policy
- 100.0% of total tour cost will have to be paid 0 days before the date of booking

BACKPACKER INDIA CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation Charges: Notice of cancellation must be made in writing in the name of BACKPACKER INDIA
Note: Cancellation due to having COVID-19/ “flu-like symptoms”, supported by a medical certificate OR due to any travel restrictions imposed by the International/ National or local government we will hold the entire amount paid by you as a credit for a future trip.
For cancellation made 60 prior to the start of the tour, there will be a cancellation fee of 25% of the invoice. For cancellation made within 60-30 days of the start of the tour, there will be a cancellation charge of 50% of the invoice. For cancellation made within 30 days of the start of the tour, there will be a cancellation charge of 100% of the invoice.
In certain cases, the cancellation policy (including conditions applicable on the advance deposit made/required for holding the reservation) may differ & would be applicable as per the cancellation policy of that hotel / Service provider. This will be charged over & in addition to the cancellation policy.
UNUSED SERVICES & REFUND
No refund will be made for any unused services or other arrangements due to any changes in schedule made by passenger while traveling. However, in certain cases, the refund will be considered as per the policy of the carrier/ hotel/ tour company / or other suppliers used for providing services.
Refund request must be made within 2 weeks of the completion of the trip.
If there is any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the tour operator on account of hotel stay, transportation, and meals etc. extra bill will be raised. Neither India Travel Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses.
RESPONSIBILITY, LIABILITY
All the packages are sold under the business management of India Travel Pvt. Ltd. and they are in no way to be considered as the principal or operator of the subject services. The right is reserved to cancel or alter any package as conditions require. Neither India Travel Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses due to loss, delay or damage caused by accident, illness, bad weather, strikes/riots, roadblock etc.
GOVERNING LAW
This condition and each term shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of India without reference to conflict of laws principles and disputes arising in relation here to shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.
